New Series [Updated May 19]

Planet of the Dead on ABC1

The 2009 Easter Special Planet of the Dead will screen on ABC1 on May 31 at 7:30 pm. A DVD release will follow in July.

Matt Smith is the Eleventh Doctor

Matt Smith has been announced as the Eleventh Doctor, with the news revealed in a special edition of Doctor Who Confidential that screened on BBC1.

Series Two on ABC

UPDATE: Repeats of Series Two have come to an end for now with The Idiot's Lantern, but will continue with The Impossible Planet on ABC2 later in the year....

The ABC is curently repeating Series Two at 8:30pm on ABC1, with Doctor Who Confidential: Cut Down following each episode.

Tennant Calls Time

David Tennant has announced he will be leaving Doctor Who after he finishes recording the 2009 Specials. There is much speculation in the British press as to who will be the Eleventh Doctor in 2010, but there have been hints that the role has already been cast...

Series Four on ABC1

Series Four has completed screening in the competative 7:30pm Sunday timeslot, with over a million viewers watching every episode. Turn Left and The Stolen Earth rated higher than Dancing with the Stars, and Journey's End beat Australian Idol.

Torchwood [Updated May 19]

UKTV will be screening Torchwood: Children of Earth in July. air dates and times to be confirmed...

ABC2 will be screening both seasons of Torchwood from June.

Torchwood: The Complete Second Series is now available on DVD.

A five episode Series Three of Torchwood, titled Children of Earth has finished shooting. It will screen over five nights on BBC1.

The Sarah Jane Adventures [Updated May 19]

Series Three of The Sarah Jane Adventures is now in production.

Pay TV station Nickelodeon will begin screening Series One of The Sarah Jane Adventures on Friday October 31 at 7 pm. A Region 4 DVD release of Series One is due out June 2009.

Series Two of The Sarah Jane Adventures has finished screening in the UK on CBBC.

Merchandise

[May 19]
Attack of the Cybermen and The Rescue / The Romans double pack have now released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop.

Future releases for this year include Image of the Fendahl, Planet of the Dead, The Deadly Assassin, Delta and the Bannermen, The War Games and The Keys of Marinus.

[March 25]
The Next Doctor and The E-Space Trilogy - Full Circle, State of Decay and Warriors' Gate - have now released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop.

[February 14]
Battlefield has now released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop.

[January 03]
The The Trial of a Time Lord has now released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop.

[November 30]
The Complete Fourth Series and Four to Doomsday have now been released on DVD and are available through the DWCA Shop.

The release schedule for 2009 is slowly being revealed, with January seeing the release of The Trial of a Time Lord box set. Further releases for the first half of next year include Battlefield; The E-Space Trilogy box set (consisting of Full Circle, State of Decay and Warriors' Gate) and a double pack containing The Rescue and The Romans.

[November 13]
Series Four, Volume Four and The War Machines have now been released on DVD and are available through the DWCA Shop.

[October 26]
Series Four, Volume Three and The Brain of Morbius have now been released on DVD and are available through the DWCA Shop.

[September 05]
Series Four, Volume Two and K9 Tales - The Invisible Enemy paired up with K9 and Company - have now been released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop.

October will see The Brain of Morbius released on DVD, followed by The War Machines in November, with Four to Doomsday the final release of the year in December.

[August 12]
Series Four, Volume One and Bred for War have now been released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop.

[June 30]
The Invasion of Time and Voyage of the Damned have now been released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop.

[May 28]
The Five Doctors: 25th Anniversary Edition has now been released on DVD and will shortly be available through the DWCA Shop. Following within the next week or so will be Black Orchid and The Infinite Quest.

July's DVD release have been confirmed as Voyage of the Damned and The Invasion of Time. August sees the release of Series Four: Volume One and Bred for War, a box set containing the following stories: The Time Warrior, The Sontaran Experiment, The Invasion of Time and The Two Doctors. Unlike The Davros Collection, there will be additional features in Bred for War. Finally, September brings to DVD Series Four: Volume Two and K9 Tales, a box set bringing together The Invisible Enemy and K9 and Company.

The following New Series novels are now available in Australia: Martha in the Mirror, Snowglobe 7 and The Many Hands.
