In a first for ABC TV, the new series of Doctor Who will launch on ABC iView – the ABC’s internet broadcasting service – two days prior to its broadcast on ABC1.
Less than two weeks after the first episode airs on the BBC in the UK, Australian viewers will be able to stream it on iView from midnight on Friday 16 April at abc.net.au/iview. The episode will then be shown on ABC1 on Sunday 18 April at 7.30pm.

It is actually midnight April 17, as when the that day technically starts, rather than the start the April 16:

Since the site says 16th April, I've posted the 16th. If they announced the 17th, people would sit up on Saturday night waiting for having already missed it.

Erm... why bother? I might watch, but then, I hate watching things on the computer. It's only two days, after all. I can wait, even for DW. Even for Series 5 (Which I am loving the look of...)
