As reported on DoctorWhoNews.com three storylines from the Doctor Who universe has been nominated for this year's Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form:
Torchwood: Captain Jack Harkness by Catherine Tregeena and directed by Ashley Way
Doctor Who: Human Nature/Family of Blood by Paul Cornell and directed by Charles Palmer
Doctor Who: Blink by Steven Moffat and directed by Hettie Macdonald
Since Moffat's previous scripts The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances & The Girl In The Fireplace won the two previous Hugos respectively, will Moffat perform a hat trick with Blink.
The Doctor Who universe has a three in five chance of winning the category that it has been nominated for as two non-Doctor Who universe scripts were also nominated.
They are Star Trek: New Voyages*: World Enough and Time & Battlestar Galactica: Razor.
*For those who do not know Star Trek: New Voyages is a Star Trek fan-produced series. |

Picked up at DoctorWhoNews.com:
Well he's done it again, Steven Moffat has again won a Hugo this time with Blink.
As I said before this win is a hat trick for Mr Moffat.
Also I should say that Human Nature/Family of Blood & Captain Jack Harkness are excellent episodes and they were in good competition against Blink .
Of the two non-Who related nominees I am certainly glad that the BSG nominee didn't win as I don't think it was great at all but I can't comment on the Star Trek nominee as I have not seen it.
Let's hope that Steven Moffat's Doctor Who script in this year's season soon to be shown on ABC1 will win next year because trust me you are going to love it. |

Hurray and Huzzah!
If I were Moffat, I would seriously consider withdrawing my name from contention for next year so that someone else could have a go...to 'do a Bergen'.
Ah well, another bottle of cheap champagne for the Moffat household. As we know, the Beeb really know how to take care of their showrunners. They may even buy him lunch! |
