Back at the start of this season, it was revealed that Gwen and Rhys got engaged between seasons. That meant wedding bells were on the horizon, and inevitably that if it happened during the season, there'd be aliens at the wedding.

So here we are: aliens at the wedding of Gwen and Rhys.

After the big focus on Owen for the last three episodes, it was nice to see someone else in the spotlight. The surprise reveal at the end of the pre-credits segment was great - although a little spoiled by the next episode preview last time round. Could have been jaw-droppingly good if it was a complete surprise.

We get to meet Gwen's parents, Rhys's parents, a bunch of their friends (but each of the two appear to be only children...), and watch our Torchwood friends try to keep as much as what is going on away from the attention of all these civilians. This has a tendency to include elements of farce into the story, but not particularly good farce.

As it ends up being primarily a semi-humorous wedding runaround episode, it strikes me as being mostly filler, a bit of relaxation. And, hence, may well be my least favourite episode of this season (though there are four more opportunities to produce something I like less!).

Pretty silly story, but's that nothing new for TW. I enjoyed the humour of the episode mostly, tried to ignore clothes which also shapeshift (and please note, the dead shapeshifter was naked; so, no, I don't think the clothes were part of them ) and just sat back and watched the silliness unfold.

Seriously, when Gwen decided to go ahead with the wedding she didn't wonder what her parents/Rhys parents/her best friends might think?? Or consider what would happen when she had no baby to show later on? Mind you, the friends wondering about how drunk they were the night before was an enjoyable scene.

Owen was almost, kinda-sorta nice to Tosh this episode! He seems to be changing, and it was good to see Tosh actually being treated nicely for a change, even if it did't last long once Banana was in the picture...And, wtf? Banana?

Anyway, looking forward to next episode, the preview was intriguing!

I just finished watching this, and I have to say that I liked it a lot more than episodes 7 and 8. To me they felt a bit weak, they weren't really grabbing me at all but this one felt more on form for TW.

This episode was a bit of light entertainment, and although deviating from the main thread, the story still managed to entertain.

Having had a sneak peek at it in the trailer at the end of the previous episode A Day In The Death, I thought I was going to hate this episode - Gwen being pregnant by alien means plus I hate weddings. I could not believe that this came from Phil Ford who is now the head writer of The Sarah Jane Adventures.

However viewing the episode itself this was quite fun. Certainly the most fun wedding I have ever seen.
Quite a nice touch at the end with Jack looking at his own wedding photos.

However there is one question since the wedding party, apart from the Torchwood team and Rhys, have been retconned, I wonder what they remember of what happened to Mervyn since he did get savagely killed by that alien?

I enjoyed this episode. Simple, light, and still had a nice amount of aliens and action. Gwen really looked beautiful in her wedding dress, and it was hilarious realising that Jack had called the real Brenda an ugly bitch.

Sad scene at the end with Jack looking at his wedding photos. Poor guy. Still, at least he's got Ianto...
