Lets think of what we've seen in the preview,
, The Doctor's new blue suit,Martha Jones, Face of Boe, another cat person i.e New Earth, Shakespeare, Witches, lovely show girls, Dr Lazurous played by the wonderful Mark Gatiss" I'm 76 years old!", Dalek Sec and if I am not mistaken a space pig???
These images alone spark many ideas to mind which will soon be answered in time. |

I must admit that as a fan of the original series I was excited and worried about the new series.
I enjoyed the extra part to the stories where the companions personal reactions and feelings were put into the stories. How would you feel if you met the Doctor? What kind of impact would it have on your life and the life of family and friends? I guess it may be a girly thing to think, but it just adds another dimension to the story.
School Reunion was great in that we saw what impact the Doctor made by leaving Sarah on Earth while he went to Gallifrey. Also the Doctor being as old as he is, how many regrets and skeletons does he have in the closet? The death of companions?
I think it's important that the Doctor and his companions are a little more three-dimension and show the thinking and feeling of the characters in situations. To really believe in the characters and to sympathise with the characters. |

Firstly let me say hi to everyone as I have just joined and am very much looking foward to being a part of this forum.
I have really enjoyed series 1 & 2. Like Chelle in an earlier post, I was not aloud to watch the original series (Mum said sci-fi was rubbish!!) I did manage to see little bits here and there when staying with relatives, but don't let on, that'll be our secret!!
I am interested in seeing how RTD introduces Martha in series 3. Rose has been so popular, that if the introduction of a new companion is handled badly and audiences don't accept her, the future of the show could be damaged. I have faith that the powers that be have the situation under control, but I am apprehensive about the whole thing.
Yes, I am a self-confessed Rose fan!!
Phew, first post done!!! |
