Hmmm....good question. It's probably my favourite "non-Doctor" episode, for sure.

No episode of the new series I've seen can beat Blink, but I think that Midnight was its equal because its one of those episodes like Blink where you don't know how its going to end because the Doctor can't do anything and you don't know what your dealing with. Also it's one of those VERY rare episodes where the Doctor is truly scared. That just adds to the excitement. One aspect in which it does beat Blink though, is that there is more of the Doctor in it, I'm not saying that was bad in Blink, but come on hes the Doctor. You may not agree with me that its as good as Blink, but you have to admit that this is Russel T Davies BEST (non finale) script.

Blink was just amazingly written. It was a near perfect script really and very Steven Moffat. Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead came darn close in series 4, but that was a two parter, so Moffat had more time to play around with. But as far as one parters go, it was sheer brilliance.

I've got friends who watched the classic series of Doctor Who as well as the new one, but Blink is the only story that they've bought on DVD (i.e. Series 3 Volume 3). This is a sure sign that it is held in high esteem even by those who aren't huge fans.
