Pilot:
Only got to be impressed with it in the second half as it opens up the mystery of Lily Kane's death and what Veronica's mother was doing with Lily's father.
Funny thing is the credits as the show start off with the title sequence instead of a teaser. The title sequence of course shows all the regulars' names (and I quite like the theme music) but afterwards we see the regulars' names on-screen all over again as the episode starts with Veronica attending class.
Found out from johnnnnny at the Buffy Down Under forum that there was a scene missing when Lily Kane's body was found: http://forums.bducommunity.com/showthread.php?t=2264&page=4 and scroll down to post #91. |

| Even though I consider myself too old for 'teeny' TV shows, I liked this one and very much liked the character of Veronica. Cant wait to see more. |

Quite agree that it was well deserved.
Credit Where Credit's Due:
The title is a good one as I would not have imagined upon looking at it that it is about credit card fraud.
Very awkward seeing Veronica and Duncan working together for an assignment for the school paper.
Sydney Tamiia Poitier debuts as Mallory Dent.
I always enjoy seeing Paris Hilton.
Wondered how Weevil talked Logan out of bashing Chardo until it became obvious: he gets beaten by his own gang as Weevil throws him out.
The mystery deepens as Lily was still alive, two hours after her supposed time of death as she got a ticket driving her car that day.
Aaron Ashmore (Troy) is the twin brother of Shawn Ashmore (Iceman in the X-Men movies and Jake in Animorphs). |

Meet John Smith:
Knew that Justin was playing a prank with Veronica when he asked to look for his father but neglected to tell her that he's dead. Extremely clever that when Veronica discovered that it was prank, Justin received a letter from his father who turns out to be still alive.
I thought that woman played by Melissa Leo only had one scene when she briefly appeared in the beginning at the video store. Then she appeared again later in the store but still did not think she was significant to the plot. Therefore when it was revealed that she was in fact Justin's dad turned into a woman it took me by complete surprise. I have known about other TV shows using a dad being woman as a plotline but this is the first time I seen an episode about it in full.
Duncan deliberately falls off but hurts himself in order to get Veronica's attention. I will definitely will not do that to get a girl's attention.
Not a bad scene with that "ghost" of Lily.
So typical that just when Veronica finally decides to see her mother, she has just left town.
A couple of little facts I picked up when I looked up Meet John Smith at TV.com:
"Episode Title: Meet John Smith
A reference to the Frank Capra film "Meet John Doe" in which Barbara Stanwyck played a wise cracking newspaper reporter, just like our heroine. Frank Capra is the Great Grandfather of Francis Capra who plays Weevil on Veronica Mars."
"In the video store note the large "Matrix Reloaded" poster. Joel Silver produced both of these projects." |

The Wrath of Con:
Wow this quite good as Veronica con the conners.
Quite emotional seeing flashbacks of Lily here as Veronica remembers their time at the dance.
The title is an intentional take on Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan.
As with the previous episode Meet John Smith, there is a mention to The Matrix (produced by Veronica Mars Producer Joel Silver) again as the conners were tricked in believing they were going to get the Matrix Online game.
10 misled its viewers in its preview of this episode as no one died from skinny dipping. It was just something that Veronica wanted to do for a long time. |

The Girl Next Door:
Somehow the sight of Logan and Weevil becoming chummy is somehow disturbing as they unite against the teacher who gave them detention. Placing a pole in the middle of Daniels' car is very daring.
Logan spots a tatoo of Lily's name on Weevil but Weevil gets away with it by saying it is his sister's name. (I don't think he has a sister.)
Yet another example of a storyline that begins with the event of the piece already taking place as we go back a week earlier to find out what led up to it. I have to say that what it turned out to be was completely unexpected.
I love what Veronica was wearing at the beginning and end of the episode. Seeing her wearing that jumper and jacket made her look really sexy in my eyes.
Cracked up when Keith said to Veronica "Earth to Mars". It was so inevitable that joke had to be inserted eventually.
After noticing that Veronica Mars was absent on Monday next week I thought this was going to be the last episode in a while but to my relief it was just moved to a different day from Friday January 20. |

Found out it would be still at 7:30pm on the new night. This means for the next three episodes I have to record or watch the second half of Veronica Mars since I had also planned to watch the As Time Goes By specials on the ABC at 8pm. |

Like A Virgin:
This was originally broadcast on November 23 (I'm sure a familiar date to all of us ) in 2004.
We see Wallace's mum for the first time, I wonder if we see more of her. Veronica wasn't really careful to flashed at Wallace while his mum was still in the house. If a girl did that in my house while my mum was home, she unfortunately would be thrown out.
Loved that Keith Mars' goes crazy in order to throw Wallace's mum's unpaying tenant out of the house.
Shocking that after a visit to Abel Koontz, Veronica finds out that Jake Kane and not Keith maybe her real father.
The next episode has been given three stars by Who Weekly. |

Drinking the Kool-Aid:
Didn't really like this one. I was much more interested to see the paternity test than with Veronica investigating what appears to be a cult. So disappointed that she put it in the shredder without even looking at it. Should have known that we were not going to find out that easily.
The next episode on February 10 is TV WEEK's highlight of the day. |

| T.S I got to see the Drinking the Kool Aid episode and loved it. The 'cult' turned out to be ok, restoring faith in humanity that not everyone is out to exploit others. |
