Paul Newman has died of cancer at the age of 83.

Born on January 26 1925 he passed away on September 26, exactly eight months after his 83rd birthday.

I have not seen Cool Hand Luke but coincidentally reference to it was made in the Hustle episode Signing Up to Wealth shown on UKTV a few days after Paul Newman's passing.
