Movie/TV News
Flash Gordon – This new TV show has just launched in the US. It is based on the original comic book strip. Fingers are crossed that it proves popular so it may migrate to the southern hemisphere.
28 weeks later: the Aftermath – This zombie flick series is moving to the small screen. No indication yet of when it will air
Jericho: The word is out that we will see the rest of the first season just before season 2 airs in the US. I know my fingers are crossed.
Heroes: Channel 7 was recorded in the paper to acknowledge that the reason for the fall off in ratings in the second half of season one was due to their delaying the broadcast. They have promised that for season two we will be seeing it within hours of the US.
The Invasion (Aus release 6 Sep 2007) As a Washington psychiatrist (Nicole Kidman) unearths the origin of an alien epidemic, she also discovers her son might be the only way it can be stopped.
Stardust (Aus release 20 Sep 2007) Fantasy. In a countryside town bordering on a magical land, a young man makes a promise to his beloved that he'll retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the magical realm.
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (US release Aug 2008) In the Far East, trouble-seeking father-and-son duo Rick (Brendan Fraser) and Alex O'Connell unearth the mummy of the first Emperor of Qin (Jet Li) -- a shape-shifting entity who was cursed by a wizard centuries ago.
Resident Evil: Extinction (US release 21 Sep, 2007) Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight against the evil Umbrella Corp.
Terra (US release 8 Sep 2007) Animated A peaceful alien planet faces annihilation, as the homeless remainder of the human race sets its eyes on Terra. Mala, a rebellious Terrian teenager, will do everything she can to stop it

40 years in Oz
Well, it’s hard to believe but we now have less than 1 months till our next event, where has the time gone! Keep your eyes pealed for our ads in both the Canberra Times and the Brisbane Courier.
It is with great regret though that I must inform you that Susan Schwartz has had to pull out due to ill health, our best wishes are with her.
On the bright side we have lined up David R George III to replace her in our line up. David wrote the special 40th Anniversary “Crucible” series, co-wrote the Voyager episode “Prime Factors” and so many more Trek related novels and novellas that it would take a long time to list them. We are extremely happy to have him on board.
Bookings are available via or independent ticketing agent, Watersprite pty ltd. Call 1300 720 656 or visit http://bookings.watersprite.com.au.
Remember, we don’t believe in paying extra to get a good seat, just arrive early!
Well keep smiling and hopefully see you in a couple of weeks
Onelia Herriot
