To be fair, artificial hair has been a long-standing feature in Who - starting from Hartnell's wig!

Hell, there's even Nick Courtney and Caroline John discussing their artificial moustache and eyelashes on teh commentary of Spearhead from Space!

Hartnell's wig was kind of different,
didn't bother me.....

So if the a New 'older doctor is chosen in the future,
I don't think the BBC would like to get a man who is balding Laughing
